A memorable experience awaits you at Big Cave Camp, where the rugged beauty of the Matopos Hills is on full display. As I ventured on a game walk, I couldn't help but feel like a modern-day explorer, discovering the giant whalebacks and castellated kopjes that rise from the earth like monumental masterpieces of nature's artistry. And when I reached Lightning Rock, perched atop a kopje, the sun dipped below the horizon, setting the hills ablaze with hues so vibrant they could only be described as a painter's dream come to life. It was a moment that will forever be etched in my memory.

    Inconsistent staff attitude.

Immersed in nature with jaw-dropping views, cleverly designed rooms, and adorable rock dassies. The meals were amazing, and the staff was incredibly hospitable. Plenty of activities and animals on the property for game viewing. Highly recommended!

A truly special location, rejuvenating and serene. Camp manager interacts well with guests. A one-of-a-kind experience surrounded by Zimbabwean rocks.

The chalet at Big Cave Camp was absolutely breathtaking! Nestled among the granite rocks on top of a Kopje, the view of Matopos National Park from my room was simply majestic. The newly renovated unit was spacious and had separate male and female facilities, including private showers and flush toilets. It was a perfect retreat for a solo traveler like me, providing all the comfort and privacy I needed.

Personally, I found the thatch roof in the chalet a bit noisy during the night. However, I understand that some guests may find it charming and enjoy the rustic ambiance it adds to the room.

Had a fantastic experience staying at Big Cave Camp Villa! The location was amazing, secluded yet not too far from Bulawayo. The rooms and facilities were beautiful, with hot and cold running water and proper toilets. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The highlight of our trip was the rhino tracking activity offered by Big Cave Camp, where we had the incredible opportunity to get up close to white rhinos, just 2 meters away! a highly recommended experience.

    No complaints at all, 😊.

Big Cave Camp is my go-to place in Matopos. I keep coming back for their friendly staff, comfy rooms, and stunning views. They even helped me with a local food delivery number on my first stay. This place has all I need - free parking, a restaurant, an outdoor pool, and more. Perfect for my business trips.

The location of this camp is truly unique, nestled among breathtaking boulders with stunning views over the valley and sunrise right from your balcony. The beds and bed linen in the rooms are comfortable and accommodating. The friendly staff takes the time to have meals with the guests and provide excellent guided trips, including rhino tracking and walks to explore the beautiful surroundings.

Food service could be improved with wait times experienced for meals.

The Cave is a unique and isolated hotel, perfect for a tranquil getaway. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a refreshing drink and warm towel. The staff was pleasant, though there was some pressure to participate in activities. The lodge itself is beautifully clean and situated in a stunning setting. The sunrise views from the balcony are breathtaking. The evening bonfire provided a great social atmosphere. The camp manager takes the time to interact with guests, making the experience more personal.

    Totally recommend this hotel.

Big Cave offers amazing activities in the beautiful Matopos area, including game walks, drives, and a spectacular sun downer drive to Lightning Rock. The camp is nestled in stunning granite formations, and the staff is delightful.

Oh, and did I mention the sheer inconvenience of the short dirt road to get there? So frustrating, yet somehow manageable.

Located in a stunning landscape surrounded by impressive rocks, this camp offers breathtaking views from its rooms. The staff is friendly and accommodating, making you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The highlight of our stay was the rhino tracking excursion, where we had the unforgettable experience of getting up close to these majestic creatures. the camp offers a range of tours and activities within the park, providing plenty of opportunities for exploration and adventure.

There were plenty of other activities available to keep us occupied, so it didn't greatly impact our overall experience.
